As a part of its strategy to excel in the Indian market, Tata motors has planned a number of changes such as filling the gaps in its product portfolio, cutting costs at all levels, increasing its sales network count by three times, improving manufacturing processes and brand image.

The company is working on improving manufacturing quality and work-force efficiency at multiple levels. The company even plans to improve its dealership network by tripling the numbers taking it to a total of 1500 dealerships in the next four years. Tata motors plans to launch 2 new models each year till 2020 and thus fill the gap in its portfolio by introduction of these models. They also plan to launch a big SUV and a compact SUV (Tata Nexon compact SUV spotted for the first time) in the next couple of years. The Mumbai based firm is also looking to improve the appeal of its brand by connecting with the younger generation and signing of famous football player Lionel Messi as the company’s brand ambassador.

Tata Zica Review

Mayank Pareek, President for Tata Motors passenger vehicles was quoted saying to PTI that we are looking at customer satisfaction and sales network expansion due to rising demand from the towns having a lower population which would come to 50% in the next five years. He further added that as the dealer is the company’s first customer, they are trying to improve the processes at the dealer’s end which would lead to better performance.

The company is also improving its manufacturing processes by introducing various techniques and taking cues from Jaguar Land Rover to improve quality issues. The company after some failures, returned to the market with the Zest compact sedan, the bolt hatchback and the latest from their stable, the Zica. These new models as well as the upcoming models could see Tata’s fate change from bad to good.
