Tata Motors hikes prices upto INR 20,000; to be effective from January 2016

Indian auto major Tata Motors followed other carmakers by hiking the prices across its model range. The hike will be effective from the first month of 2016 with the increase being upto Rs.20,000 on some models. Tata motors said in a statement that they decided to increase the prices of their passenger due to the impact of various macro-economic factors.

Companies such as Skoda, Toyota, Nissan, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, BMW and Mercedes Benz have also recently announced their respective price hikes and now Tata joins the bandwagon. Tata Motors portfolio consists of 10 models that include the GenX Nano, Bolt, Indica, Zest, Indigo, Safari Storme, Safari DiCOR, Sumo Gold, Xenon XT and the Aria. These models are priced between Rs. 1.99 lakh to Rs. 15.51 lakh (Ex-Showroom).

A fair number of customers wanting to buy new cars might want to advance their decisions which should see them buying cars in the month of December. This could prove to be beneficial to the customer as dealerships who are clearing their inventories may offer discounts or complimentary accessories.
