Tata ACE Mega launched; priced at INR 4.31 lakh

Tata Motors today announced the launch of a new pick-up in the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment – Tata ACE Mega. The ACE Mega comes with a rated payload of 1Tonne, and according to Tata Motors, will offer the best-in-class fuel efficiency and lowest cost of ownership. Launched at a price of INR 4.31 Lakhs, ex-showroom, Thane, the Tata ACE Mega is available in an exclusive Azure Blue color. This small pick-up will be available for sale initially, in seven states – Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, and will expand to other states in a phased manner.

The Tata ACE Mega comes equipped with the 4th generation 2 cylinder 800 cc DiCOR diesel engine, which delivers a power of 40 HP, and is mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The Mega has a best-in-class speed of 90 KMPH, and a fuel efficiency of 18.5 kmpl (ARAI certified). It also offers a rated payload of 1 ton with a new reinforced load body, a suitable cargo load deck size for market load operation. 14 inch tyres, high ground clearance of 175 mm and gradeability of 30%.

Inside, the Mega’s cabin comes with an ergonomically located driver console, glovebox with lock, provision for music system, mobile charging facility, digital clock and full fabric seats. Other features include strengthened  leaf spring suspension with rigid axles both in the front and rear, truck-like construction, and a 7” vacuum booster in the braking system. Exterior highlights comprise of a body colored front bumper, new front protective wheel arch eyebrows, new body graphics, and wide angle ORVMs on both sides.
