The 2016 MRF MoGrip FMSCI National Super cross Championship for two-wheelers will kick off at the Navellim Super cross Track in Goa on April 17, with the qualifying round being held a day earlier. Other rounds of the championship, being organized by Pune-based Godspeed Racing, will be held in Hyderabad on July 3, Delhi on Sept 25, Jaipur on Oct 2, Bengaluru on Nov 27 and Pune on Dec 4.

Over 150 riders from across the country will be taking part in seven National championship classes which are as follows –

  • Group A SX-1 (A&B, up to 250cc 2-Stroke, 500cc 4-Stroke)
  • Group C Novice (2/4 Stroke, up to 260cc)
  • Group B Indian Experts (2/4 Stroke, up to 260cc)
  • Group C Indian Experts (2/4 Stroke, up to 260cc)
  • Group C Private Experts (2/4 Stroke, up to 260cc)
  • Group A SX2 (up to 250cc 2-Stroke, 500cc 4-Stroke) and
  • Junior SX (A/B/C/D, 2/4 Stroke, up to 250cc).

Super cross is a motorcycle racing sport that involves racing specialized, high-performance off-road motorcycles on artificially created dirt tracks consisting of steep jumps and obstacles. Professional super cross contests are usually held in stadiums world-over.

Godspeed Racing said in a statement that they have been involved with two-wheeler racing and shows for over 10 years. They have also been instrumental with our vast experience, technical and marketing expertise and network within the fraternity in assisting various organizations to set up factory racing teams. It was further added that Over the last four years, they have branched out into extreme motorsports and have been the only organization to get freestyle motocross shows and superbike freestyle shows into the country.
