A test mule of the upcoming Ford Figo compact sedan was yet again photographed on the Indian roads. Expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2015, the Figo compact sedan will make its debut in the Indian market along with the updated 2015 Ford Figo hatchback. A full-size sedan is expected to follow soon after. The upcoming Figo compact sedan, along with 2015 Ford Figo hatchback and a full-size sedan, will be manufactured in Ford’s Sanand manufacturing plant in Gujarat.
The 2015 Ford Figo trio is expected to be powered by a fully-localized, naturally aspirated and newly developed 1.0-litre TiVCT 3-cylinder petrol engine that is likely to deliver 80-85 bhp of power and about 105 Nm of torque. The oil-burner would most probably be the 1.5-litre diesel motor that is found in the current Fiesta but with a few tweaks for better fuel efficiency.
The upcoming Ford Figo Aspire compact sedan is expected to be launched in mid-2015 and will compete against the newly Honda Amaze, Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Zest and the likes and we expect the prices to hover between Rs 5.5-7.5 lakh (ex-showroom). A full-size Sedan will also join Ford’s product portfolio in the country and will compete against the Hyundai 4S Fluidic Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and the likes.
