We were surprised to see Hero MotoCorp’s Passion Pro TR, a multi-purpose commuter motorcycle, at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. This Passion Pro TR received mixed response from the audience as some didn’t find the design appealing while others appreciated its utility value.

Now, India’s third largest motorcycle maker, TVS Motors, is playing all its cards to increase its sales and climb up the ladder of largest manufacturer. TVS’s latest strategy involves the introduction of a new, multi-purpose motorcycle in the commuter segment similar to the Hero’s Passion Pro TR. Surprisingly, TVS already has launched this motorcycle in Indonesia, named Max125. The photographs of the test mule of this motorcycle were spotted by automotive website, AutoCar India.

This multi-purpose commuter will be powered by a 125cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine that would churn out 11 PS of power at 8000rpm and 10.8Nm of torque at 5500rpm. The motorcycle, as seen in the pictures, will get a petal rotor front disc brake and drum brakes at the rear. It also gets spoke wheels with a high raised front fender. The front telescopic suspension gets a long-travel while the rear gets TVS’s multi-rated ‘series spring’ shock absorbers.

We are unsure if this motorcycle will receive any BMW Motorrad expertise.
