Seen here in the lead image is the new 2016 Ford Endeavour aka Everest. The next generation of the popular SUV was recently spotted in Australia and is expected to go on sale in early 2015.As per a report doing rounds of the cyber space, the next gen of the 7 seater SUV will come equipped with an intelligent one-touch multi-mode all-wheel-drive drivetrain that will enable the Endeavour to deal with a variety of terrains ranging from icy roads to off-road trails.

The report goes on to say that this system will be available in the top-end automatic variant and would allow users to switch between settings for normal, snow, sand and off-road driving. It may be noted that while the car maker has been testing the next gen Endeavour/Everest on snow and ice testing in the Scandinavian region, the car is also being tested in Australia, for the off-road performance. For off road testing, the car maker is using a Toyota Prado for benchmarking purposes.

The 2016 Everest concept has already been revealed if this test mule here is anything to go by, the production model won’t look too different from the design study. The test mule can also be seen sporting black ORVMs and a black D-pillar.

It is being said that the next gen 2016 Ford Endeavour/Everest will be powered by the same engines- read: a 2.5-liter and a 3.0-liter diesel- that power the current model. However, both these engines will come mated to new 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.

  1. Ford is going berserk with that hideous front end styling. I mean what was wrong with the existing model??? Lemme guess.. It looks better and more muscular. Come on Ford.
