Next Gen Maruti Suzuki WagonR

SPIED: Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki WagonR Spotted In India

The new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Wagon R StingRay were unveiled in Japan in 2017. The vehicles that were unveiled in the Land Of The Rising Sun measured 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width, and 1,650mm in height. But those were the Japan spec models and the India-bound hatchback will be far subtle, and it is.

In latest updates, a test mule of the next generation Maruti Suzuki Wagon R was spotted testing on the Yamuna Express Way near Delhi. Based on Maruti Suzuki’s HEARTECT PLATFORM – the same that underpins the new Swift – the new 2018 Wagon R will get a longer wheelbase.

At first glance, the typical boxy shape of the hatchback is evident Visually, the new Wagon R is expected to feature a revised fascia with new bumper and headlights. The rear and the sides may also witness a minor upgrade. The spy shots did not reveal much details about the interiors but we may see a subtle upgrade on the insides too.

Mechanically, however, the next-gen Wagon R is not likely to be too different from the outgoing model. So we may see the 1.0-litre K10 petrol engine performing the propelling tasks.

The launch date of the next-gen WagonR is still unknown but with the test mule doing the rounds, we might see it arrive some time in the second half of 2018.
