To begin with the good, the Fiat Punto T-Jet will be launched in reality. For the not so good then, the gentleman who snapped these images spoke with one of Fiat’s test engineers, who mentioned that the 1.4-liter turbocharged motor propelling the car will only crank out nearly 105 horses and about 185 Nm of twist. This figure, although healthy for a hot hatch in India, pales in comparison to the earlier rumors of the T-Jet motor whipping out 135 horses under the Punto’s bonnet.
Spied in yellow this time with matching cables connected to sensors running through the engine bay, the Punto T-Jet is reported to use a different turbocharger than the one that does duty on the Linea T-Jet. However, the good news is that all four wheels get disc brakes. For some not so good news again, the report says that the Punto T-Jet will only be launched in March 2016, which is a long wait if you’re in the market for a fun to drive hot hatch. Until then, get your mallet, head to the nearest VW showroom and pick between any of the Polo GT twins.
