The 2015 Mahindra Scorpio has been on test for quite some time now. It is due to be launched in the upcoming festive season and has been spotted several times across the nation. This time though, it has been spotted high up in the Himalayas. One of our readers, Vicky Dogra from Manali, Himachal Pradesh has managed to capture the SUV in his camera and has shared the images with us. This appears like a high altitude and cold weather test for the SUV, which should be in the last phase of its testing by now.
The face lifted model will receive a set of new headlights with LED fixtures, a redesigned bumper, a refreshed grille and new fog lamps. The model will also feature a new hood and redesigned front fenders along with LED tail lamps at the rear. On the inside, the 2015 Mahindra Scorpio face lift will feature a new dashboard and upholstery, while it will share the steering wheel unit with the XUV500. The instrument cluster is new and the SUV should also get a touchscreen infotainment system.
Expect the current 2.2 litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged mHawk diesel engine to be retuned for the new model. It currently develops 120 bhp of power and peak torque of 290 Nm. The refreshed Scorpio should be offered with 4-speed auto and 5-speed manual gearboxes. The SUV is expected to be launched by mid-Spetember and should add a sting in Mahindra’s sales figures as the manufacturer has been witnessing decline in numbers for some time now.
