When it comes to exclusivity, the Aston Martin Vulcan has it all covered, and then some more. With juts 24 examples produced worldwide, the race car is crème de la crème. So much so, that when New Zealand’s Highlands Motorsport Park took delivery of one recently, it became Southern Hemisphere’s first and only Aston Martin Vulcan. At $4.2 million NZD (approximately INR 19 Crores), the Vulcan also took top honours as the highest-value production car to be sold in New Zealand.

The Vulcan was unveiled to the New Zealand public with a maiden run around the Highlands Motorsport Park track. The complex also offered 10 exclusive Aston Martin Vulcan hot-lap experiences as part of the launch, with two rides donated to the Halberg Trust and a local fundraiser for a family who lost their father in a helicopter accident. In addition, $1000 from each of the tickets was donated to the Cure Kids and Relay for Life charities. The Highlands Aston Martin Vulcan is on display for the public to see at the Highlands National Motorsport Museum until September 2016.

The Aston Martin Vulcan is meant for the racetrack only, and made its first international appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.  Made entirely out of super lightweight carbon-fibre and powered by a stupendously loud and fire-spitting 7.0-litre V12 engine, this track-focused British missile has over 800 horsepower on tap. Other armaments for the track include a bespoke, adjustable racing suspension, massive Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs with equally big racing callipers, a limited slip differential, carbon-fibre prop shaft, a high-tech driver-adjustable traction control system, and a racing car inspired 6-speed sequential gearbox.
