South Africa recieves Fuso trucks ‘made in India’ by Daimler India Commercial Vehicles

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd (DICV) launched its range of FUSO trucks in South Africa. DICV works in collaboration with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC) under the authority of Daimler Trucks Asia.

The FUSO range of trucks that are made in India will be exported to select markets in Asia and Africa. The trucks will be sold through FUSO’s distribution networks.

DICV plans to fast-track for more ‘Built in India’ products by exporting the light to medium-duty trucks in future. The cooperation between Kawasaki, Japan and Oragadam plant, near Chennai, in improving research activities, sourcing and product development thereby provides reliable, efficient and quality products.The FUSO range that is manufactured in India consists of five models spanning the 9-16 tonne category and the 25 to 49 tonne category.

Commenting on the development the Managing Director and CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles,Mr. Erich Nesselhauf, said, “ The vehicle demonstrates trusted quality, economic efficiency and functional design and is set to capture the African market. The success of DICV built trucks across markets shows our proficiency in manufacturing trucks in India and which are customized to meet the diverse industry requirements.”
