The Skoda Octavia has been busy winning plenty of accolades ever since it made its public debut several months ago. The latest honor that the Octy has been bestowed with is the Best Family Car title by 2014 What Car? Awards.
The What Car? judging panel chose the 1.2 TSI 105PS SE model as its pick of the range. The panel was impressed by this variant’s all-round ability and superb value for money. The judges also praised the new Octy’s quality interiors, high equipment levels and high practicality.
Chas Hallett, Editor-in-Chief of What Car? said: “At the Octavia’s price, nothing comes close to offering such quality, practicality and competence.”
Commenting on the Octavia’s latest industry accolade, Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA, said: “We’re delighted that the Octavia has been named Family Car of the year by What Car? Through clever design and advanced engineering, we have been able to create a car that genuinely sets new standards in this important sector. Our buyers demand exceptional value for money, practicality and comfort, and with the latest Octavia, they have all three.”
Launched in most international markets in early 2013, the new Octavia is available in hatch and estate forms with a range of advanced drivetrain options including 4×4 transmissions and turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. The range also includes the most powerful Octavia ever built in the form of the sporty vRS model.
Prices for the Octavia range in UK start from £16,310.
