Skoda Kushaq Facelift Teased : ADAS, Panoramic Sunroof Expected

Skoda is preparing for a facelift for one of its most important SUVs for India. The Kushaq facelift has been teased and is expected to be unveiled around January 19, 2026 and it is the first major update for the model since its launch in 2021. Over the years, the Kushaq has created a strong reputation for solid build quality and fun-to-drive engines, but the segment has moved ahead quite quickly. This update is Skoda’s way of keeping the SUV relevant in a very competitive space.

On the outside, the changes will be subtle, but noticeable. Test cars spotted across India indicate updated headlights and a slightly reworked front bumper. The grille is expected to look sharper, with slimmer vertical slats and a connected LED DRL design which was inspired by the newer Skoda models. At the rear slimmer tail-lamps are likely, possibly joined by a light bar. New alloy wheels, probably 17-inch, will add freshness, while the overall shape and stance will remain familiar.

Inside the cabin, the facelift should bring bigger changes. Skoda is likely to introduce new colours and trim finishes for the interior. A panoramic sunroof is expected to make its debut as buyers have been asking for. The layout of the dashboard might be changed and physical buttons for some of the more important functions could be brought back to make it easier to use while driving.

Feature additions are expected to be a big hit. These may include

  • Level 2 ADAS safety suite
  • 360-degree surround camera
  • Ventilated front seats on higher variants
  • Updated touchscreen system
  • Increased connected car functionality
  • Possible segment-first rear seat massage function

On the safety front, the Kushaq will retain its six airbags, ESC, traction control and ISOFIX mounts but ADAS will take it closer to rivals like the Creta, Seltos and Astor.

Under the bonnet, Skoda is not expected to make major changes. The familiar 1.0 litre TSI petrol and the 1.5 litre TSI petrol are likely to continue. Manual and automatic options will still be there though an important update is planned later. Skoda is expected to replace the current 6-speed automatic on the 1.0 TSI with a new 8-speed torque converter which should result in better smoothness and fuel efficiency.

The Kushaq facelift will continue to underpin the MQB A0 IN platform, which is already tuned well for Indian conditions. Pricing is poised to take a small bump because of added features.

With the Kushaq facelift, Skoda aims to keep its compact SUV competitive while offering more features and comfort. It may not reinvent the SUV, but the added tech, updated design and improved equipment may make it a stronger choice once again in the crowded mid-size SUV segment.
