Skoda Kushaq And Slavia 8-inch Infotainment Revealed

Skoda recently revealed how the Kushaq and the Slavia will be receiving a cut in the features list due to the ongoing chip shortage. The 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system available from the Ambition variant onwards has been replaced by an 8-inch unit. This also means that it will lose out on wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Now, we get to take our first look at the new screen. This unit is similar to the other Skoda cars seen abroad.

Skoda Slavia and Kushaq: Recent Updates

Skoda recently hiked the prices of the Slavia mid-size sedan by up to ₹60000. This is the first price hike that the sedan has received since its launch in February 2022. The Slavia measures 4,541 mm long, 1,752 mm wide, and 1,487 mm tall with a 2,651 mm wheelbase. Skoda claims that the Slavia is bigger than the first-gen Octavia. The front reveals a typical Skoda face with a butterfly grille. The headlights are L-shaped LED units and the fog lamps are halogen units.

The side features 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear features a notchback design which is a design characteristic followed by all Skoda sedans. Skoda also launched a new variant in the Kushaq lineup called the Style NSR. The term ‘NSR’ stands for ‘no sunroof’, which suggests that the variant misses out on an electric sunroof. The variant also misses out on rain-sensing wipers, an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror and it gets a 15-inch spare wheel instead of a 16-inch unit. This variant is only available with the 1.0 TSI engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and is priced at ₹15.09 lakh ex-showroom.

This makes it ₹20k cheaper than the standard Style variant. Additionally, Skoda has also made TPMS standard across the range and the top-end Style variant now gets a new roof liner and virtual cockpit. The Slavia and Kushaq share their powertrains. The turbocharged 1.0 liter 3 cylinder TSI engine produces 115hp and 175 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It also gets a turbocharged 1.5 liter 4 cylinder TSI engine which produces 150hp and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.
