According to a report by Zigwheels, Skoda India will launch the Rapid Ultima in February,2014.
The Skoda Rapid Ultima will feature decals on the sides, bonnet and the roof. On the boot, it will also feature the Ultima badge (stickers) above the Rapid name. Apart from these changes, the car will be identical to the regular Rapid.
Speaking about the interiors, the Rapid Ultima will feature a two tone dashboard with a lighter shade for the dashboard top portion, in addition to a chequered theme which will feature on plastics around the AC vents and the center console. The Ultima will also get two-tone leather seats. Rear parking sensors with a reversing camera will also come as standard on the car. Bluetooth telephony and climate control will also be available in the car.
The Rapid Ultima will be sold with the 1.6-liter diesel motor, which will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This 1.6 liter block churns out 105 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque, with an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 20.5 kmpl.
The Skoda Rapid is also offered with a 1.6 liter petrol motor, which develops same max power as of the diesel, but lower peak torque (153 Nm). This engine is available with 5 speed manual and automatic transmission options.
The Skoda Rapid Ultima will hit the showroom floors in February next year and will command a slight premium over the Elegance trim. The Ultima is expected to be priced a shade over 10 lakh INR (Ex-showroom Delhi).
