The revamped version of the Linea is believed to emit lesser vibrations because of the new engine mounts (across all engine variants) installed in it. With a minor tweak in the ECU the new Linea will churn out a better mileage, while the gearbox has been retuned to deliver the torque in a better manner than the current model. It has a freshly designed and more front seat frame while durability issues in the dashboard plastics, seat lever and the boot release lever are also believed to be addressed. As per the observations of our spy photographer, the interiors looked radically improved in terms of the visual quality of plastics. Our other sources claim that the sound insulation has been improved too, since a lot of complaints regarding the same were received from customers of the diesel variants of the flagship sedan.

Speaking of the engine, we have already told you that the 1.4 T-jet mill will make its public appearance at the 2010 Auto Expo. The bonnet for the new variant as well as the current model will now feature a new opening mechanism. An improvised AC unit which gives out very less noise is also said to be packed in the upcoming Linea(s). The common grievance about the current Linea of chrome bits (especially the monograms) falling off has also been eliminated in the ‘bug-fixed’ model. The paint quality and durability seems to be worked upon as well and may incorporate additional lacquer coats, giving the car a fresh and glossier looking finish.
