The Royal Enfield Himalayan promotional video that captured the unfortunate incident of CS Santosh losing a footrest after some rigorous off-roading has been taken off from the official YouTube channel.

‘The #Himalayan – The CS Santosh Diaries – Ep.1 Kolar’ saw the Dakar rally rider perform several rigorous tests for Royal Enfield. But one particular stunt, with CS Santosh on board of the Himalayan, going air-borne and landing on the ground from a height of around 3-4 feet saw the adventure tourer lose one of its foot pegs.

The officials at Royal Enfield say that they have made changes to the unit and made it better or durable. Royal Enfield came said in an official statement:

“It’s the torture testing of a prototype, no aspect has been left untouched to give you exactly what you want. We pursued quality to deliver the promise of endurance. This testing proved to us that if you land from a jump that’s 6ft above ground, the footpeg could break, so we made it better and did it all over again and again before we broke out with the #Himalayan.”
