Royal Enfield Himalayan FI Coming Soon, ABS Version Likely To Be Introduced Later

Post the ban on sale of BS-III vehicles across the country, Royal Enfield is bringing the fuel injected version of the Himalayan to Indian shores. The Himalayan FI, which is already on sale in regions such as the U.S. and the U.K, will soon be introduced in the local automotive market too.

Bookings for the fuel injected Royal Enfield Himalayan have reportedly begun ahead of its launch that is likely to take place in the month of May 2017. Reports further add that the Himalayan FI will cost approximately INR 10,000 more than the current price of the model. The Himalayan FI will be a BS-IV emission compliant two-wheeler.

Although it was believed that Royal Enfield would bring the Himalayan FI with ABS, it is believed that the company currently does not have any such plans. The company is likely to introduce the ABS feature in the Himalayan later during the product’s life-cycle.

Currently, the Himalayan is sold with a carbureted 411cc single cylinder air cooled engine. This engine produces 24.5 bhp at 6500 rpm while the peak torque of 32 Nm comes up between 4000-4500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via five speed transmission. Stay tuned as more updates are likely to surface soon.
