The SRT (Street and Racing Technology) variants of all Chrysler group cars have always made a lot of news for their high performance and street-cred. Basically, SRT is to Chrysler Group what M division is to BMW.

There have been many speculations regarding the upcoming new generation Jeep Cherokee SRT and what we have here today is a speculative rendering of the upcoming performance variant of the new gen Cherokee. As is obvious, the Cherokee SRT would look decidedly sportier than the vanilla variants and would appeal to those who wish to have sportcar rivaling performance from their ‘big bad’ SUV.

Powering the upcoming 2014 Jeep Cherokee could be a re-worked and ‘performance-tuned’ version of the 3.2 litre Pentastar V6. The motor could get a Stage 1 turbo that would enable the motor to have a max power figure in the vicinity of 380PS. We won’t be too surprised if the good folks at Jeep decide to plonk in a twin-turbo set up to have a max power figure of around 460PS. The motor will come mated to the new 9-speed automatic ‘box that made its public debut that will be seen in the standard variants. The SRT variant will also get an all wheel drive system.
