According to a report, Renault has sent an email to members of the ‘Gang of Dusters’ community, offering a huge discount of up to INR 2 lakh on the Duster SUV. The report also claims that to make way for the upcoming Renault Kaptur which will be launched later this year, the Duster line up will be trimmed to just three variants – 85 PS RxE, 85 PS RxZ and 110 PS RxZ AMT.
The email states that select cars from the manufacturer’s inventory are being offered at special prices, exclusively for members of the Gang of Dusters. The variants in question are the Renault Duster 85 PS Standard Edition and the 110 PS AWD Adventure Edition. Where there is a cash discount of INR 1.6 lakh being offered on 34 available examples of the former and all of them are available only in White. For the 110 PS AWD Adventure Edition, a cash discount of INR 2 lakh is being offered and one may pick from the available 58 White and 18 Silver examples. Exchange benefits of INR 10,000 and a Corporate Bonus of INR 7,000 is applicable for both models.
Once launched, the Renault Kaptur will be positioned above the Duster and could be offered with an AWD option. The new crossover will be manufactured at the company’s production facility located in Oragadam, near Chennai. A few highlights of the upcoming Kaptur crossover include keyless entry and a 7-inch media-nav touchscreen infotainment system and steering mounted controls. Engine details remain a mystery although the upcoming Renault Kaptur crossover is expected to be powered by the conventional 1.5-litre dCi engine that produces 108.5 bhp and 245 Nm of torque.
