Renault India has issued a recall for the Kwid hatchback due to an issue with the fuel hose of the vehicle. The French automobile manufacturer has recalled all units of the 0.8-litre variant of the Kwid manufactured till May 18, 2016. The company will inspect the fault pertaining to the fuel hose that could possibly cause a disruption in the fuel supply of the car.

It is still unknown the total number of units affected by this recall although the number is believed to be approximately 50,000 units. The company has said that the necessary changes will be made free of cost. The affected models will be fitted with a fuel hose clip to reduce the risk of any fuel flow issues.
The news comes even as the brand is preparing to launch the AMT variant of the hatchback soon. The Kwid has seen a good response since the time it was launched in September last year with an introductory price tag of INR 2.56 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Delhi). Renault recently launched the Kwid with a 1.0-litre engine in the month August.
