Just last month in Chennai, Renault showcased its all-new affordable hatchback – the Kwid. And now, two test mules of the sub-4 lakh rupee Renault Kwid have been spotted in Bangalore without any camouflage. Renault has managed an impressive 98 percent localisation for its new hatchback in India. The Renault Kwid utilises the Common Module Family – Affordable (CMF-A) platform. The French carmaker has given the Kwid features such as 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation from LG and a Bluetooth telephony feature. There’s an-all digital instrument console and top-end variants will get a driver’s airbag, the latter being housed in a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel. The Renault Kwid gets an all-new 800cc petrol engine. This three-pot twin-cam engine makes 57 horsepower and gets a 5-speed manual transmission. That said, Renault is also likely to offer the Kwid with an AMT box.
