Renault has launched the Lodgy Stepway in India. The Lodgy Stepway is essentially be an RxZ trim Lodgy with added visual appeal. It is reported that some Renault dealerships have already begun accepting bookings for the Lodgy Stepway at INR 50,000. The Renault Lodgy Stepway Edition will be dearer to the wallet by about INR 60,000 over the regular Lodgy.
The Renault Lodgy Stepway had its public reveal at the 2015 Star Guild Awards. This new variant is meant to be more of a cosmetic upgrade to make the MPV look more rugged and muscular. Renault has kitted the Lodgy Stepway with a chrome-garnished and reworked front grille, restyled bumpers that now get skid plates with satin chrome finish, black cladding on the doors and wheel arches, new black and chrome satin roof rails, scuff plate finished off in chrome, ‘Stepway’ decals and anthracite alloy wheels.
The equipment list on the Renault Lodgy Stepway Edition is identical to that found on the RxZ trim car. So you get cruise control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, touchscreen infotainment rig with built-in navigation system, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth telephony controls, reverse parking sensors with a rear-view camera, rear windshield wiper with defogger etc. On the safety front, the Renault Lodgy Stepway Edition gets ABS with EBD, brake assist and dual front airbags.
Power for the Stepway Edition comes from the same 1.5-litre K9K dCi engine found in the regular Lodgy. This 4-cylinder oil burner develops 110 PS of max power and 245 Nm of twist at 1750 rpm. Power goes to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual shifter and the Lodgy gets a claimed fuel economy figure of 19.98 km/l. The pricing for the 8-seater Renault Lodgy Stepway Edition begins at INR 11.99 Lakh and INR 12.29 Lakh for the 7-seater variant. Note: Both mentioned prices are for ex-showroom, New Delhi.
