Premier Rio facelift caught testing

Yet again, we post about the Premier Rio. Some days back, we talked about the car getting the 1.3 Multijet engine which enables Premier to sell the mini SUV in the BS4 cities. We also talked about the possibility of a facelift. Now, our friends at Motorbeam have caught the Rio testing on Dehu Road,Pune. As can be seen, the test mule had heavy masking on its front end but we can figure out the new clear lens headlamps and the ABS badge on rear shows that an ABS version is headed our way.

We had also talked about the Pune based company introducing a petrol version of the Rio.The Rio petrol sports a 1173cc, 4 cylinder naturally aspirated engine with about 75 bhp and 104 Nm of torque to play with. It may be noted that annually, Indian market sees over 3-4 lakh units of SUVs being sold and Premier has managed to sell merely 2000 units of this compact SUV so far. Once the facelifted version has been launched, Premiere hopes to sell more than 1000 units per month.
