Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid: Brochure Scans Surface on Cyber Space

We finally have some concrete info on the much awaited Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Supercar. The brochure scans of one of the most powerful supercars show that the upcoming Porsche will have a radical interior and an astonishing power figure with a claimed fuel economy figure of 33 Kmpl.

The 918 is equipped with twin electric motors mounted on the front and rear axle of the car and this means that the 918 Spyder Hybrid also gets to have an amazing amount of torque from as low as zero rpm! The electric motors are powered by a lithium ion battery pack and together, the motors generate a max. power output of 215 Bhp and a max. torque of 600 Nm. Coupled to the electric motors is a naturally aspirated 4.6 Liter V8 petrol mill with a very healthy output of 580Bhp@9,000rpm-700Nm@6,500 rpm.

The power from the electric motors and the petrol engine merge at the 7 speed dual clutch PDK automatic transmission which then transmits the power to all four wheels. The Porsche 918 Spyder can run on 3 modes- electric only, petrol only and hybrid. The power sources together produce 800 Bhp-600 Nm at idle and 850 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm.
