Polestar 3 Electric SUV Breaks Cover

Swedish Automaker, Polestar revealed the company’s first SUV and its first car planned to be produced on two continents the Polestar 3 on 12th October 2022. The Polestar 3 defines an electric performance SUV with Scandinavian minimalism and purity working together. Polestar 3 introduces a new aerodynamic profile retaining the standards of an SUV including a front aero wing integrated into the bonnet, an aero wing integrated into the rear spoiler, and rear aero blades. The car uses selected bio-friendly materials on the interior like bio-attributed MicroTech, animal welfare-certified leather, and fully traceable wool upholsteries.

Polestar 3 is the first car from Polestar to feature centralized computing with the NVIDIA DRIVE core computer, running software from Volvo Cars serving as the AI brain. The cabin of the car features an infotainment system which is powered by a next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies that will provide immersive in-vehicle experiences with high-performance capabilities to deliver high-definition displays, premium quality surround sound, and seamless connectivity throughout the vehicle. The car also features interior radar sensors that can detect sub-millimeter movements in the interior of the car, to help protect against accidentally leaving children or pets inside. The 14.5-inch center display uses Android Automotive OS as the in-car operating system, co-developed with Google.

The powertrain of the car produces a total of 360 kW and 840 Nm of torque and with the optional Performance Pack, total output is increased to 380 kW and 910 Nm of torque. A 111-kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides Polestar 3 with a driving range of up to 610 km WLTP. All variants of the SUV include air suspension, a full-length panoramic glass roof, all-LED lighting inside and out, retractable door handles with proximity sensing, and 21-inch alloy wheels. The Polestar 3 will be available to order from the second quarter of 2023 with the optional Pilot Pack with LiDAR from Luminar.
