So coming to the Vespa stores on 25 October 2016 will be the celebratory 70th Anniversary Edition Vespa and the colossally expensive Vespa 946 Emporio Armani.
We had already seen the extravagant Vespa 946 Emporio Armani at the 2016 Auto Expo that was held in Delhi NCR earlier this year. The year 2015 was celebrated as the 130th year in the life of Piaggio Group and the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Giorgio Armani. To honour these important events of the organizations a new special edition – Vespa 946 Giorgio Armani was created. The numeric ‘946’ suffix denotes the year – 1946 – the year this scoot was first made.
The Vespa 946 is powered by a 125 cc 4 Stroke 3V engine that makes approx. 12 hp. The features set on the scoot includes LCD instrument panel, full Led projectors and indicator lights. This Vespa is built around a steelplate monocoque frame with aluminium parts (rims, handlebar, side panels, front mudguard, mirror supports and saddle support). The ride is also assisted by ASR traction control and 2-channel ABS system.
Speaking of the price, the Vespa 946 is expected to be rolled out at a premium price tag of around INR 7 to INR 9 Lakhs. The 70th Anniversary Vespa model range for some international markets includes the GTS, PX 125 2T, and the Primavera 150. As of now, it is unclear as to which models are going to be launched at the upcoming event on 25 October. Till then, stay tuned with us as we shall get you the live updates from the launch event.
