$185,000 or approximately INR 1.18 Crore – that’s how much this famous Toyota Supra, driven raced by the late Paul Walker’s character – Brian O’Connor in The Fast and the Furious (2001) was sold for, at US based Mecum Auction’s 28th Original Spring Classic in Indiana last week. We were expecting it to sell for more, given that, both Paul and the F&F franchise have become contemporary motoring legends now.

However, more than one versions of this vehicle were built, including a hero car for close-up scenes and others designed and built to perform the actual stunts. This particular vehicle, which went under the hammer, happens to be one of the stunt cars that portrayed that now-famous vehicle.

Built by mechanic Eddie Paul at The Shark Shop in El Segundo, California, this Supra, a ’93 example, is powered by a 2JZ-GE, 3.0-liter inline-6 engine producing 220 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. That’s not exactly Ferrari beating performance, while the twin Holley Performance nitrous oxide (NOS) bottles mounted in the rear aren’t actually functional either.

Other go-faster additions include a heavy-duty suspension, a full roll cage, competition seats, a Jaz Products fuel cell, a Bomex body kit along with an APR wing, and Dazz alloy wrapped with with Yokohama rubber. A fiery orange paint job and wild graphics by Modern Image of San Diego give it the unique character that has become oh-so popular today.
