Speaking to the media at the curtain raising event, Mr. Gautam Singhania- Chairman and Managing Director, Raymond Limited and Founding Chairman of the Super Car Club (SCC) stated “The annual super cars display and parade in Mumbai has now become a sought after event every January. This edition of the Parx Super Car Show will have India’s best and most powerful supercars on display I hope this even will boost the enthusiasm of car lovers in the country and offer them a chance to watch their favourite vehicles live at a single location. There is already increased interest among super car owners for the club’s flagship show as we gear up to one of the biggest car shows of the country. Retired World Champion Rally Driver- Hannu Mikkola has been invited as the Guest of Honour to the event.”

We asked a couple of questions to Mr. Singhania when he mentioned that they would be taking the Supercar show to Ladakh and Bhutan:

Q) How do you plan to take cars such as the Lamborghinis to Ladakh?

A) Taking these cars would be a cumbersome task, we’re planning to only take the high end luxury SUVs.

Q) With the growing number of Supercars and Superbikes in Mumbai, is your club in talks with any infrastructure company to build a track near Mumbai?

A) No. There are no plans as such. I feel building new tracks should make economic sense. We already have the Buddh International Circuit and we want more and more events to take place so that the cost of investment is recovered.

Coming back to the event, spectators would be treated to droolworthy visuals when the convoy comprising of Aston Martins, Audis, Bentleys, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Mercs, Porsches, Rolls Royces etc. tranverse through the city streets. January 26th has been reserved for exhibition at the Mahalaxmi Race Course where enthusiasts can have a glimpse of the exotics. The second day of the event would witness the cars in action on the city streets when they start off at 10 a.m. from the Race Course to Nariman Point passing Marine Drive, Malabar Hill till the Domestic Airport before returning back to the Race Course by 1 pm

Mr. Singhania through the media, put up an appeal to the spectators particularly in cars and on bikes to enjoy the Supercar show and refrain from getting too close to the cars or trying to cut in between just to have a look. Indiscipline on part of spectators driving/riding too close to the cars had already resulted in a mishap last year.

We at Motoroids hope everyone enjoys the show responsibly!
