On-Board Footage: Ducati Panigale V4 Laps Valencia Circuit In 1:36.84

The record for the fastest lap around Valencia in MotoGP is held by Jorge Lorenzo. The Spanish rider clocked a record lap time of 1’29.401 back in 2016, on a motorcycle that makes maximum power‎ of around 245 hp and weighs just about 157 kg. Alessandro Valia, Ducati’s official tester, lapped the circuit on a production motorcycle in 1’36.84 — that’s how capable is the new Ducati Panigale V4.

The new Ducati Panigale V4 is the first mass-produced Ducati bike to mount a 4-cylinder engine derived directly from the Desmosedici GP. The 90° V4 with a displacement of 1,103 cc, the counter-rotating crankshaft and the 4 valves per cylinder with desmodromic distribution that reaches 214 hp (157.5 kW ) of maximum power at 13,000 rpm and 122 Nm (12.44 kgm) of maximum torque at 10,000 rpm. The Ducati Panigale V4 weighs 175 kg (dry).

Then there’s the limited edition Panigale V4 Speciale that features exclusive and dedicated livery, Ducati Performance titanium racing exhaust by Akrapovic for 226 hp of power, and components in carbon and aluminium worked from the solid. The Panigale V4 Speciale weighs 173 kg (dry), about 2 kg less than the standard Panigale V4.
