Kia India has added a new battery warranty for the Carens Clavis EV. The high-voltage battery is now covered for 15 years with no kilometre limit for the first private owner. The new policy applies to vehicles retailed from August 1, 2026. Kia has also given existing owners a way to extend their battery cover.
New Battery Warranty
The new warranty is specifically for the high-voltage battery. Kia defines the lifetime period as 15 years from the date of vehicle delivery.
The coverage is also linked to battery capacity. For the first purchaser, the warranty covers capacity loss below 70% of the battery’s original capacity.

The unlimited-kilometre benefit is only for the first private owner. If the vehicle changes hands, the battery warranty moves to the standard eight-year or 1,60,000km limit, whichever comes first. Commercial use is also excluded from the 15-year unlimited-kilometre cover.
Upgrade
Kia has not limited the new policy to future buyers. Eligible customers who purchased their Carens Clavis EV before August 1, 2026 can also extend their battery warranty.
The upgrade costs Rs. 3,400, including taxes. It changes the existing 8-year/1,60,000km battery coverage to 15 years with unlimited kilometres, subject to Kia’s terms and vehicle evaluation.
Carens Clavis EV Battery And Range
The electric MPV is available with two battery packs. The smaller 42kWh unit has a claimed MIDC range of 404km, while the larger 51.4kWh pack offers up to 490km. Both versions produce 255Nm of peak torque.

Kia also offers the Carens Clavis EV with Battery-as-a-Service, which lowers the initial vehicle cost by separating the battery payment from the vehicle purchase. The model starts at Rs. 18.03 lakh ex-showroom when the battery is purchased outright.
Charging And EV Support
The Carens Clavis EV supports CCS2 charging. Kia says the 42kWh battery takes around four hours from 10 to 100% using an 11kW AC charger. The 51.4kWh battery takes around 4 hours 45 minutes under the same conditions. A 100kW DC charger can take either battery from 10 to 80% in around 39 minutes.
Kia is also expanding its charging support through K-Charge. The company says the platform brings more than 20,300 charging points from 23 charge-point operators together through its system. Kia also has more than 129 dealerships with high-capacity DC chargers and over 275 EV-ready workshops.
