We reported in detail when it first emerged that the Honda Mobilio launch in India is in the offing and the car will get into production around June this year. Now, it has emerged that Honda India has created a page for the upcoming Mobilio MPV on its website, with this new page giving out details about the upcoming model. The page states that the Honda Mobilio launch in India will happen in a “few months from now”.
Basically a 7 seater MPV, the Honda Mobilio MPV will compete with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Nissan Evalia, Ashok Leyland Stile and the Chevrolet Enjoy in India. Honda Mobilio has been designed and developed as per Honda’s “Man Maximum Machine Minimum” philosophy and reports suggest that the upcoming MPV has more cabin space than the Ertiga. The Mobilio, which measures 4.4 metres in length, is slightly longer than the Ertiga. It has a ground clearance of 185mm.
The India spec Honda Mobilio is powered by the same 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, 115bhp iVTEC petrol engine that powers the City. It is also almost for sure that India would get the 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine that powers both the City and the Amaze in India. The diesel engine has a max power of 100 PS and boasts of an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 25+ kmpl.
There have been several rumors stating that Honda Mobilio price in India would be petted around INR 6-7 lakhs.
