Oben to Kick Start Deliveries of Rorr Electric Motorcycle from July!

One of the homegrown EV makers, Oben, is geared up to commence the deliveries of the Rorr electric bike. The EV maker is all set to start the deliveries of Rorr in July of 2023.

Recently, Oben raised a fund of Rs. 40 Crores for increasing the production capacity to 1,00,000 units per year. The Rorr will be manufactured at their 3.5-acre manufacturing plant in Bengaluru.

About the recent fund-raiser

Oben has recently raised a significant fund of Rs. 40 Crores in the extension of the pre-series A round. With this fund-raiser, the EV manufacturer has raised a total fund of Rs. 88 Crores including equity and debt. This fund is expected to support the EV manufacturer in increasing the production capacity of their Bengaluru manufacturing plant.

Recently, Oben opened its first HSR layout experience center in Bengaluru. Oben has an important distribution network in major cities of the country. Moreover, they have plans to fulfill the demand of 21,000 pre-orders with the expansion of manufacturing capacity. Meanwhile, the deliveries of Oben Rorr electric bikes are slated to be commenced in July 2023.

About Oben Rorr

Oben Rorr is an electric bike which is finalized by the manufacturer after filtering out 21 patents. The upcoming Rorr bike is made up of 95% localized parts and components. This bike is powered by a 10kW IPMSM-rated electric motor and a 4.4 kWh battery pack complying with AIS 156 regulations. This results in a claimed 0-40km/h sprint in 3 seconds, a top speed of 100km/h, and a riding range of 187km.

The manufacturer has developed a new battery pack using metal components like LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphorous). Oben will introduce a new charging technology allowing its customers to charge their motorcycle at home earlier than other 2-wheelers. The manufacturer claims that regular home charging takes 83 mins. per kWh, but their Rorr electric bike can be fully charged in 2 hours.
