2022 Maruti Alto: Dimensions, Specifications, and Variants

The 2022 Alto will measure 3,530mm in length, 1,490mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, and have a wheelbase of 2,380mm. The 2022 Alto is around 85mm longer, 45mm taller, and has a 20mm longer wheelbase when compared to the current Alto. However, its width remains the same at 1490 mm. It has a gross weight of 1,150 kg. The new Alto will be powered by the 1.0-liter K10C DualJet engine that produces 67hp and 89Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual or an AMT and also gets idle start/stop for improved fuel efficiency. The lack of the 0.8-liter engine indicates that this Alto will come with the 1.0-liter engine exclusively which is why it will be called the Alto K10. The Alto K10 will be offered in 12 variants including STD, LXI, VXI, and VXI+. Each of these variants will get an optional (O) variant as well with additional safety features. The automatic trim will be available in VXI and VXI+ variants in addition to their respective (O) variants as well.

What else can we expect?

According to the spy shots, we can make out that the new Alto will get a new design that is inspired by the new Celerio. Instead of being SUV-inspired, the next-gen Alto will stick to its hatchback roots. The front features a clamshell bonnet with slim headlights. The bumper features a big mesh grille. The lower half of the bumper gets fog lamp inserts and a C-shaped design element on each side. This C-shaped element could house LED DRLs. The interiors of the new Alto are going to be revamped as well. Expect the use of new switchgear and upholstery. The interior is expected to be much more spacious as well and one can expect an increase in the boot space too. The new Alto is expected to feature Maruti’s smart play infotainment system which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car play.
