2016 is is yet to end and it seems Maruti Suzuki already has its 2017 plans in place. Maruti Suzuki recently announced the launch date for the Ignis while the Baleno RS, a performance oriented version of the model is slated to launch early next year.

Now, if reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki will also be launching the Swift Dzire early next year. What is surprising here though is the fact that the report suggests that the 2017 Swift Dzire will be launched prior to the launch of the 2017 Swift hatchback. The 2017 Swift Dzire is likely to hit showrooms around March-April 2017.

Although there is no official confirmation regarding the launch of the 2017 Swift Dzire, the recent spotting of its test-mules in the country suggest that the launch could take place soon. These test mules were heavily camouflaged hence no design cues of the upcoming compact sedan could be ascertained. A recent leaked image of the 2017 Swift gave away major cosmetic details of the hatchback and we can expect the similar design cues on the 2017 Swift Dzire.
Details on the engine of the upcoming Swift Dzire remain unknown however reports suggest that the model could be powered by the conventional 1.3-litre diesel motor while an updated 1.2-litre petrol engine could be on the cards.
