Volkswagen India has launched the VW Vento facelift at a starting price of INR 7.44 lakhs. The new Vento debuts with the 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine from the recently face-lifted Polo, along with the much raved about seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission (DSG) from the recently launched Skoda Rapid face-lift.

Visually, nothing much has been altered apart from a pair of more powerful, double-barrel headlamps and a set of redesigned 15-inch alloy wheels. The new Vento also gains dual front airbags on all variants. On the inside a flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel with integrated entertainment controls from the new Polo makes an appearance, apart from footwell lights, a refreshed color palette for the dashboard and Bluetooth telephony. New colours available for the Vento line-up include Toffee Brown and Night Blue.
Engines & gearbox options:-
- The 1.5-liter diesel engine (available with a five-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox) delivers 105 PS (103.5 bhp) at 4,400 rpm and 250 Nm at 1,500-2,500 rpm.
- The 1.6-liter petrol (available with a five-speed manual gearbox) delivers 105 PS at 5,250 rpm and 153 Nm at 3,800 rpm
- The 1.2-liter TSI engine (available with a seven-speed automatic gearbox) delivers 105 PS at 5,000 rpm and 175 Nm at 1,500-4,100 rpm.

!! MISTAKE !! in Gear ratios shown for VW Polo GT TSi.
The table shows the ratio for 5th gear (1.14) as being higher than the ratio for 4th gear (1.11) which is contrary to all precepts of transmission design.
The SAME MISTAKE is on other websites that publish this stuff, which suggests that VW made a mistake in the document they sent all of you.
Could you request a correction from VW, as I have no way of contacting their engineers, and I have the car, and am working out shift strategies for different styles of driving.
