It is being said that Renault is planning to launch a new Renault Megane in 2016 and with this, it hopes to re-claim the sales success it has lost to the fresher competition.

The 2017 Renault Megane will have a sportier exterior design that will take sufficient inspiration from the Clio and Captur. It is highly likely that the new car will boast of a “new corporate face” that will consist of a sleeker grille and a large Renault logo.

While Renault UK product manager Yann Le Graet has refrained from going into much detail, he has said,”We won’t be going back to the shape of the Mégane II.” He further added,”The low roof gives us something different from the [Volkswagen] Golf. It makes the Mégane more sporting, more appealing.

Other than being more stylish, the new Renault Megane will boast of a higher quality interior that will come equipped with a large touchscreen display, along with a host of other features. There are chances that the manufacturer will get rid of all the switches, in favour of a touchscreen interface, incorporated into the infotainment system.

Renault has so far refrained from revealing any technical details but it is pretty much for sure that the new Renault Megane will be underpinned by the CMF C-D platform, which will be shared with the new Scenic and Espace.
