MINI India today announced the launch of the new MINI Countryman in India. The new MINI Countryman is available at MINI dealerships across India as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) unit from today onwards at an ex-showroom price of INR 3,650,000*.
The MINI has come far from what its creator, Sir Alec Issigonis, would have ever imagined it to be. Changing lifestyles have created new segments, and the MINI Countryman is catering to one of them. The new MINI Countryman is a five-door “Sports Activity Vehicle” – a more sophisticated crossover, that makes the MINI brand appeal to a broader spectrum of customers, whose family or leisure pursuits have created an increased need for space and flexibility. This is the Countryman’s first refresh since the crossover was first introduced in 2010.

The Countryman retains the hallmark MINI shape and distinctive details, but tactfully drapes them around a new, bigger structure, built to accommodate five doors, as many people and their luggage.
Notable exterior highlights regarding the face-lift include the powerdome on the contoured bonnet, a redesigned hexagonal grille, increased ground clearance, short overhangs, large xenon headlights with LED fog lights, vertical tail lamp cluster and standard-fitted 17-inch alloy wheels.
The interior of the new MINI Countryman is very much in keeping with the brand’s familiar style but adds a selection of new design and functional elements. The new dashboard has pronounced, concave forms, while a newly configured range of interior colours, trim elements and upholstery materials spruce things up.
The seating position is slightly now raised, while the height adjustable standard Sports Leather Seats along with multifunction Sport Leather Steering Wheel continue to be MINI-esque.
A Radio MINI Boost CD with a 6.5 inch display, complemented by an optional 10 speaker 640 watt Hi-Fi Harmon Kardon music system provide entertainment. The backseat is now available in a 40:20:40 split, and the optional Panaoramic Glass-roof adds to the sense of roominess.
The four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with common-rail injection and variable turbine geometry produces an output of 82 kW / 112 hp, and a maximum torque of 270 Nm at 1,750 – 2250 rpm. The new MINI Countryman accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 11.3 seconds, and has a top speed of 185 km / hr.
The engine is mated to a new six-speed Steptronic transmission, with optional shift paddles on the steering wheel. Other essential highlights include Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Automatic Start/Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, Electric Power Steering, 50:50 Weight Distribution and more.
The standard safety equipment comprise 6 airbags, 3-point seat belts, Dynamic Stability Control including Dynamic Traction Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist and Run-flat indicator.
The new MINI Countryman is available in Light White and Light Coffee non-metallic paintworks. A range of 9 metallic paintworks includes Blazing Red, Brilliant Copper, Royal Grey, Absolute Black, Crystal Silver, Cosmic Blue, Jungle Green, Starlight Blue and Midnight Grey. Choice of upholstery includes Leather Gravity Carbon Black | Carbon Black or Leather Gravity Polar Beige | Polar Beige both including lumbar support as standard.
Presently, the MINI model range in India includes the MINI 3-door, the MINI 5-door, the MINI Convertible and the MINI Countryman. MINI has established four exclusive outlets in India.
