The new Mahindra Scorpio is flying off the shelves as more than 6000 units have been accounted for- all within just 5 days of it’s launch on the 25th of last month. As this sales chart (courtesy ETAuto) for the top five UVs sold in September 2014 shows, the Scorpio sold 6060 units, and zoomed directly to the second spot behind it’s stablemate Bolero, usurping Honda’s MPV-the Mobilio.
The new Mahindra Scorpio comes with a host of new exterior embellishments, new features, apart from substantial updates to the chassis and suspension. Even the transmission is all new, although the engines continue to be the same. The Scorpio is offered in six variants, the S2, S4, S6, S6+, S8 and the top of the line S10. While all these variants get the mHawk 2179 cc, 4-cylinder, turbo-charged, CRDI engine, the lowly S2 variant gets to do with the archaic, yet rugged m2DICR 2.5-litre engine.
