Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its new Bolero christened Bolero Power+. The SUV comes equipped with the mHawkD70 engine. The mHAWKD70 engine is claimed to deliver 13% more power and 5% more mileage over the existing Bolero. The 1.5-litre mHawk D70 engine is borrowed from the TUV300 and NuvoSport. However, in the Bolero Power+, this engine makes 70PS and 195Nm, down from the 83.6PS/230Nm in the TUV300. This sub-4m Bolero Power+ measures 3995mm in length, 1745mm in width and 1880mm in height. Mahindra have shaved off 112mm from the original Bolero’s length.
In terms of visuals, the new Bolero Power+ continues to have a “bold SUV stance with its signature front grille and masculine bumpers”. The “blue vision headlamps” and the body decals add to its stylish and sporty looks. The list of features include a digital instrument cluster, a Driver Information System (DIS), a voice messaging system and the fuel-saving Micro Hybrid technology on the ZLX variant. The new Bolero Power+ also gets an engine immobilizer which shuts down the engine if any key other than your key is used ensuring safety of the vehicle.
The New Bolero Power+ with the mHawkD70 engine will be available in three variants – SLE, SLX & ZLX across Mahindra dealerships pan India starting. The SUV has been priced at INR 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai for SLE BS4 variant).
Speaking about the newly launched SUV, Pravin Shah, President & Chief Executive (Automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said that the Bolero has been India’s No.1 SUV for 10 years in a row from 2005-06 to 2015-16 and the all New Bolero Power+ is an evolution of this powerful brand. He further added that the new Bolero Power+ with the mhawkD70 engine will deliver more power, more mileage and a peppier drive. The SUV maker is also confident that the new Bolero Power+, with its overall better value proposition, will heighten its appeal not only amongst its core customers but also excite more buyers.
