New Hero Karizma to sport powerful EBR engines

New Hero Karizma

After numerous spy shots and speculations alike, Hero Motocorp has confirmed of a more powerful engine for the new Karizma and ZMR. Stated to be the first commercial production model post their technical partnership with US-based Erik Buell Racing (EBR) which it holds a 49.2% stake, Hero MotoCorp Managing Director and CEO Pawan Munjal said “There is a lot of innovation happening in our own R&D and we will bring it to the market through some of the products we will launch. We have applied for patents for those innovations. This is showcasing our capability. We will be launching the new Karizma variants which are redesigned and the engine made more powerful with our partner EBR. This is the first commercial production model in which they have played a big part in development.”

Though this certainly seems good news and though we’d hope for a substantial bump in engine grunt on the new Karizmas, it would be too early to speculate the power figures especially considering that the engines design spotted in few of the spy pics looks very similar to the existing air cooled designs. Though on the other hand there have been pics with the engines completely masked, which might be the more powerful technically collaborated units.

The New Karizmas are a part of Hero Motocorp’s strategy to cash in on the festive season where it would be introducing 15 new models- majority of which would be launched between the months of October to December 2013. Hopefully we should see the new and powerful Karizmas by the end of this year.

  1. Beautiful, just waiting for them to launch, hope they are Karizma 250cc and have enough power to fight against the present warriors in the 250cc category, CBR and Hyosung. . .
