Ford revealed its new Figo Aspire compact saloon in India in March 26, 2015. Bookings for the sub-4 metre saloon will commence in late July 2015 at Ford dealerships across the subcontinent. The 2015 Ford Figo Aspire will be manufactured at the American carmaker’s Sanand facility in Gujarat and will be launched in August 2015. The new Ford Figo Aspire compact saloon measures in at 3,995mm in length, 1,695mm in width, 1,525mm in height, and boasts of a 2,491mm wheelbase and 359 litres of boot space.

Upon launch, Ford will sell the new compact saloon with three engine and two transmission choices – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. As for the bit under the bonnet, the 2015 Ford Figo Aspire will be offered with three engines; the first of which will be a 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol unit which will develop 88 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and gets an ARAI-rated fuel economy figure of 18.16 km/l. There’s another 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol mill for the sub-4 metre and this one will produce 112 PS of max power and 136 Nm of twist; power will be sent through the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), which Ford calls as the ‘PowerShift’ transmission and this engine gets an ARAI-rated fuel consumption figure of 17 km/l.

The final engine available with the new Ford Figo Aspire is a 1.5-litre Duratorq diesel unit that churns out 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque. This engine will come paired with a 5-speed manual shifter and returns an ARAI-rated 25.83 km/l of fuel economy. Ford India will offer the compact saloon in Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and the top-end Titanium+ trim; the latter gets dual front, side and curtain airbags as standard.
