We have been reporting in detail about the new 2014 Toyota Corolla India launch. The new 2014 Toyota Corolla made its India debut at the 2014 Auto Expo in early February this year (CLICK HERE for our report on 2014 Toyota Corolla India debut). According to various reports, it is being said the 2014 Toyota Corolla India launch will happen on May 27. Now, after talking to a local dealer, we can confirm the bookings for the new Corolla have commenced.
The new Toyota Corolla will come with the same engine options which powered the car it replaces. The petrol engined Corolla will be powered by the 1.8-liter four cylinder mill, which churns out a max power of 140 PS at 6,400 RPM. The Corolla diesel will be powered by the same 1.4 litre oil burner, which develops 89 PS of max power. Transmission options for the petrol engine include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox, while the diesel will be mated to a 6 speed manual box only.
The petrol variant will go on sale in five trim levels: J, G, G CVT, GL and VL. The new Corolla will get rear reclining seat, brake assist, rear foglight and a rear power socket as standard across the trim line. The VL trim level now gets automatic wipers, LED headlights, 7-inch multimedia system with integrated navigation, 16-inch alloy wheels and reverse camera.
The diesel Corolla will go on sale in four trim levels – J, J(S), G and GL.
