Only yesterday, we reported the new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis India launch could happen by May this year. Now, according to a report by Autocar India, the new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis India launch is scheduled to happen on May 27, 2014. Soon after the launch, deliveries of the car are expected to commence in the first week of June.
The new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis will come with LED headlamps (on higher variants) and tail lamps. The car will come loaded to the gills with features such as :
- LED Daytime Running Lights
- Push button start
- Keyless entry
- Rain sensing wipers
- Paddle shifters on the automatic transmission variant
- Rear view camera
- 8 way adjustable seat for driver
- 7 inch touch screen infotainment system
Under the hood, the new 2014 Corolla Altis will come with the same 1.8 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that powers the outgoing model. This motor produces 138 bhp of max power and 190 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. The engine will come mated to a 6 speed manual transmission, along with a seven speed CVT automatic with pedal shifters. The diesel engine duty will be performed by the same 1.4 liter motor which produces 87 bhp of max power. The oil burner will come mated to a 6 speed manual transmission only.
The new 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis measures 4620 mm in length, 1776 mm in width and 1475 mm in height. If you compare, the new car is longer and wider than the outgoing model. The car has a 2700 mm wheelbase, which is 100 mm longer than the current model.
The new Corolla Altis is expected to be priced 40,000 more than the outgoing model.
