Fiat India has already launched the facelifted Linea in the Indian market. Now an avid reader of Motoroids Mr. Ravi Chavan has sent us spy pics of what seems to be the base variant of the Fiat Linea. This Fiat Linea test mule was caught on the old Mumbai-Pune highway.
We are unsure as to why Fiat is testing the car with camouflage when it has been already launched in the Indian market. The test mule sports black bumpers which gives us a hint of it being a base variant which could become a hit with the taxi fleet operators. On the outside, the car retains the fog lamps and body colored outer rear view mirrors.
As can be seen in the image above, the interiors of the car seem to be of a base variant. The steering wheel has been stripped down of the audio controls. Also, the car doesn’t feature the audio system. Fiat Linea is priced from INR 6.99 lakh for the base petrol variant-Active. This Active variant is available with the 1.4 liter petrol engine. This spied base variant will be slotted below this Active variant and is likely to come with a factory fitted CNG kit. Fiat could also sell this variant with the 1.3 liter MJD for the taxi fleet operators.
With the current prices starting at INR 6.99 lakh, the base variant could be priced below INR 6.50 lakh. The base variant Fiat Linea will be pitted against the Maruti Suzuki Dezire, Mahindra Verito, Nissan Sunny, Toyota Etios and Tata Indigo CS.Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the Fiat Linea base variant launch and other details.
