The new 2013 Renault Koleos made its public debut at the Buenos Aires Motor Show today. The latest version of the Koleos isn’t an all new model and is basically a facelift to inject some freshness into the ageing car.
The biggest visual change that can be found is the new front grill, which now stretches from one headlight to another. The new grille helps in making the car look a bit more cheeky, along with imparting a sense of modernity to the front fascia. However, it remains to be seen how the public reacts to this visual change. We, for starters, aren’t too appreciative of the new front grille design.
Also a part of the revisions is the revised front bumper features a large air dam and a faux skid plate. The makers of the Koleos say that the wheels of the new car feature a two-tone design Other than all this, visually, the car remains the same.
On the inside, the car gets new leather upholstery as an optional extra. Some parts of the dashboard also get wood inserts. The biggest change on the inside is the inclusion of Renault R-Link multimedia system, which comes with a 7-inch touchscreen display. The R-Link system has controls mounted on to the steering wheel, has a console mounted joystick and can also be used by giving voice commands. R-Link is compatible with as many as 50 applications, which can be bought from the R-Link Store. The new Koleos’s R-Link system is also connected to a reverse camera. The 2013 Renault Koleos facelift also gets a Blind Spot Warning sytem.
The new 2013 Koleos can be bought in either 4×2 or 4×4 layout. It isn’t yet known if the facelift will come to us anytime soon but going by Renault India’s newfound seriousness for its operations, we won’t be too surprised to see the vehicle coming our way in a few months.
