All You Need to Know: New Hyundai Xcent [Images, Prices, Specs, Features]

We reported in detail when Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), India’s second-largest car manufacturer, recently launched the Hyundai Xcent compact sedan in the country.

At the launch event, B S Seo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL commented, “The Xcent is a world-class product developed for the Indian families. The Xcent has gone on sale with two engine options- 1.1 litre 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2 litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol.

The U2 CRDi diesel engine that powers the Xcent boasts of a max power of 72PS@4000rpm of peak torque of 18.4kgm@1750- 2500rpm. The motor boasts of an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 24.4kmpl comes mated to a five speed manual transmission.

The 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine boasts of an all-aluminum body and benefits from Dual VTVT mechanism. It has a max power of 83PS@6000rpm and peak torque of 11.6 kgm@4000rpm, along with an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.1kmpl. The petrol engine offers the choice of 5-speed manual transmission and 4- speed Automatic Transmission.
