NAIAS LIVE: Nissan Sport Sedan Concept images from Detroit

Nissan has unveiled its new Sport Sedan Concept at NAIAS 2014 and here are some images and details of the latest Nissan design study, brought to you LIVE from the event.

The new Nissan Sport Sedan Concept previews an upcoming production model, probably the 2015 Maxima. Th new concept model features “V-Motion” styling at its front end and consists of a chrome grille and boomerang-shaped LED headlights. The car is draped in Strad Amber paint-job and has a “floating” roof. The car rides on stylish 21-inch aluminum wheels.

On the inside, the car features a two-tone interior that sports quilted leather seats, a sport steering wheel and some metallic trim. The highlights here though, are the floating-type center stack and the future-ready infotainment system.

Powering the new Nissan Sport Sedan Concept is a 3.5-litre V6 engine that belts out more than 300 bhp (223 kW) and while the manufacturer has refrained from publishing full technical specifications, it has announced that the motor will come mated to a sport-tuned Xtronic continuously variable transmission.

As per Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President at Nissan, “The Sport Sedan Concept shows a new, highly emotional and energetic design direction that takes Nissan’s legendary approach of applying sports car principles to a sedan to the next level.” He added, “The Sport Sedan Concept captures that essence with authentic sports car design and proportions.
