MY 2016 Hyundai Tucson plans a comeback for India

Hyundai Tucson - FrontAccording to a report from Autocar, Hyundai India is planning to launch the 2016 model of its Tucson SUV in the Indian market soon. The Tucson will be the third SUV for Hyundai India after its premium compact SUV, the Creta and its premium segment SUV, the SantaFe. The 2016 Hyundai Tucson was unveiled at the Geneva motor Show this year and recieves the fluidic design update.

Hyundai Tucson - ProfileThe Tucson will be available with 4 engine options mated to an automatic transmission or a manual transmission. Powertrain options on the Tucson include 2 diesel engines, a 1.7 litre engine churning out 114 hp and a 2.0 litre engine churning out a relatively higher 182 hp. The Tucson features 2 petrol engines on the global spec models, a 1.6 litre engine with 133 hp of power and a 1.6 litre turbocharged engine with a power output of 174 hp.

2016-Hyundai-Tucson (2)The Tucson features LED headlamps, horizontal LED DRLs above the fog lamps and a hexagonal shaped grille on the front fascia. The rear end of the Tucson features LED powered tail lamps and reflectors above the bumper. The wheel arches are unconventional in shape and add an extra appeal to the overall looks of the car. The global spec model features a monotone interior, although a dual tone interior could feature in the Indian spec model. The number plate is mounted on the tailgate instead of the usual space on the bumper, giving the bumper a neat look. The dashboard features an eight inch multi function LCD display. Safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Assist system.

2016-Hyundai-Tucson (1)The upcoming Tucson will lock horns with the Honda CR-V, the Isuzu MU-7, the Skoda Yeti and the SsangYong Rexton. Expect the Tucson to be priced around Rs.18 Lakh as it will come to India via CBU route.
